How to get Skyliner from Narita Airport? (feat. Ticket Discount)

It is a pretty simple step once you know, but it can be confusing how to get Skyliner from Narita airport. So I made a thorough post with how to get a discount. 

There are many public transportations you can use and you can check my related blog post on which transport you need to take by neighbourhood. 

But Skyliner is great for Shinjuku and Nippori.

Things You Should Know Before Getting Skyliner

Here are some of the tips before you read my blog

  • Make sure you check the train if it is a Skyliner (Uedo) train or not 
  • When you transfer from Nippori (if you are going to Shinjuku), do not exit the station 
  • If you are going to Narita airport, you will need both the metro ticket and the skyliner ticket in the machine. 

 

Skynliner Price at the Narita Airport (2023 Jan)

 

Last time I checked the price of Skyliner was :

  • Aoto Station : 2,190 Yen
  • Nippori Station : 2,570 Yen
  • Ueno Station : 2,570 Yen

You can always buy it at the airport, but you will get a little discount if you buy it online. I compared all the companies and Klook and Get Your Guide was cheaper with 2,300 Yen (270 Yen cheaper).

How to Get on Skyliner

First follow the sign “train”.

Once you follow the sign, you will go downstairs. 

Then you will see all these signs which are all different public transportation you can use. 

If you haven’t booked your ticket online, you can buy your tickets on any of the places below. 

It is either Keisei information center, the counter or at the machine. 

 

Because we bought it online, I just had to go to Keisei information centre.

You just show the QR code, then she will let you choose the time of the train and the ticket. 

Here it is the ticket. 

 

Now, you can check your timetable on the board. The blue ones are Skyliner. 

 

When the train comes, make sure it. says Skyliner (Ueno).

It doesn’t actually matter when you get the train from Narita airport, but when you go to Narita airport, it is important to check it. 

 

If you are going from Narita Airport to Shinjuku on Skyliner, You will Need to Transfer (How to)

When you get off at Nippori station, do not exit the station. 

You will see below picture saying, Gate for transfer Passengers Only. 

 

You just follow that sign. 

Then you will see the machine here. 

If you are planning on getting Suica / Pasmo card, you can get it here. 

Of if you are just getting a JR Line ticket like me, you can just also buy it here. 

 

 

It is super easy. You just punch in “Shinjuku,” and then pay 200 yen. 

The platform to Shinjuku will be 11. 

 

Then of course put the ticket inside the machine and that is it!
