From Chiang Mai Khao Soi restaurants to trendy restaurants, I will give you best restaurants I visited. My friend Golf who lives in Mae Sot gave me the list.
Also, Michelin Guide Chiang Mai has an extensive list, so you can also check their list as well.
Rote Yiam Beef Noodle (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเนื้อรสเยี่ยม)
I couldn’t find it in English, so I am putting the name in Thailand. (2022 Update) Now they have English menu!
This was recommended by my friend, and it was absolutely amazing. I love my noodles and it was one of the best in town. And it was super cheap.
It felt like a Thai version of Pho.
She was generous on giving us meat. Normally I would always save the meat but there was so much I was eating it like crazy.
I just wondered how they make any profit.

Boat Noodle is another noodle soup restaurant in Chiang Mai.
I’ve seen a lot of Chinese travelers going to the restaurant, so I had to try it. There are more options than ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเนื้อรสเยี่ยม.
I thought it wasn’t bad but I think Rote Yiam Beef Noodle is the best.

Dash Restaurant Chiang Mai
Dash Chiang Mai is one of the most famous and best restaurants in Chiang Mai.
My friend told me that it is where he takes his parents because it is not only tasty but has good service.
They serve traditional Thai food, but the Dash Chiang Mai caters for foreigners so it has been slightly adjusted.
Broccoli Restaurant Chiang Mai
This was on top of Trip Advisor, so we went into Old Town to try it.
It is a small and quint restaurant. I had Khao Soi and fried rice. Fried rice wasn’t the best, but Khao Soi was good, and I had my fair share of Khao sois in Chiang Mai.
But if you ask where the best restaurant in Chiang Mai for Khao Soi is, I would say Khao SOi Khun Yai Chiang Mai

Khao Soi Khun Yai Chiang Mai
In terms of Khao Soi, you have to go to Khao Soi Khun Yai. This restaurant had the best Khao Soi in Chiang Mai.
This is also where my friend told me that serves the best Khao Soi in Chiang Mai.
I had one and it was so good I had to order another one.
This is not the nicest looking restaurant but more like under a tent kind of restaurant. But don’t be fooled by the looks that they got, cause they are the best in Thailand.
There are few other best restaurants in Chiang Mai got Michelin Bib Gourmand, Khao Soi Mae Manee and Khao Soi Lung Prakit Kad Kom. I haven’t tried it, but I am sure it is amazing.

House by Ginger (Ginger and Kafe)
If you are worried with your weak stomach (jkjk) about eating a hut style restaurant not digging a hut style restaurant try House by Ginger (before 2022, it was called Ginger and Kafe).
It is a very trendy restaurant with good food. I had another Khao Soi here, and it was as good as Khao Soi Khun Yai. It is also very instagrammable.

Bagel House
Growing up in New York, it was my daily routine to have sausage egg and cheese on a bagel with black iced coffee in the morning.
So when I started traveling in Thailand, it was hard to get rid of that craving. Then I found Bagel House in Chiang Mai.
It wasn’t sausage egg and cheese, but it still was great. Apparently the owners
Whole Earth (2022 Update : Temporarily Closed)
Whole Earth is a high end Thai restaurant.
It is next to the Night Bazaar, and it has a beautiful interior with great service.
But it is a bit more expensive than other restaurants.
If you are someone who is not too adventurousbut still want to experience Thai food, I think Whole Earth is a great Thai restaurant in Chiang Mai.
On the Cloud Nine Chiang Mai (Summer 2022 : Temporarily Closed)
On the Cloud Nine is a great place for desert because of its very cute presentation.
I am not necessarily a desert person, but I just went to take some cute pictures and let you guys know this place actually exist.

Happy Green (Permanently Closed)
The last thing I care about is eating vegan food, but I heard this vegan restaurant is so good.
It is so good that you will wonder why you weren’t a vegan from the beginning. You should go early in the morning when it’s not busy.
It is a buffet style so you can have as much as you want for a fixed price. It is not the easiest location, but it is worth while for just the view.
