Where Is the Best Place to Buy and Pick Up Vietnam SIM Card ?
Airport
Buying Vietnam SIM card is as easy as buying it in Thailand. The most famous network companies are Vinaphone, Mobifone and Viettel. You can think Vinaphone as Vodaphone. I hear it is the best company in Vietnam.
You can easily find Vietnam SIM card Kiosks when you exit the luggage pick up. There will be many kiosks and you can just go to the one you like. I think Vinaphone has the best deal, and i will explain more later.
If you are going to buy the SIM card at the airport, make sure to set it up before you leave the airport. Because the first time I went to Vietnam, I swapped the SIM card after I left the airport and it didn’t work and wasted 10 dollars.

Pre-pay at Online Site
I think this is the best option. You can pick up your Vietnam SIM card at the airport and if there is a problem, you can also get customer service (unlike buying at the airport kiosk).
I use Klook to buy Vinaphone SIM Card. Klook is a pretty good booking site if you are traveling in Asia. They offer from public transportation tickets to normal tours. Viator also offers some Vietnam SIM cards (Way 2 Go). I haven’t used Way 2 Go SIM Cards, so I cannot guarantee, but I would appreciate if you can leave a comment below what it was like if you happen to use it.
If you are buying it from Klook, you will see a Klook kiosk inside the luggage pick up (before you exit). I think this is pretty good because you don’t have to be pounded by all the sellers outside the airport.

Local Network Shops
Don’t worry if you are reading this after you already left the airport. You can just buy it at a local network shops. All you need is a passport and money. Please bring your passport if you are going to use the local shops.
You can also order from Klook and delivery it to you hotel. I haven’t used it, but the reviews are all pretty good.
How Much is Vietnam SIM Card?
All major Network services have similiar price.
Viettel is around 9 dollars. (this is a printed version at the airport, 2018). The pricing might have changed in 2019.
Vinaphone was about 5 dollars at the airport.

Will Vietnam SIM Card work on my phone?
There are many different SIM card sizes, but if you have a European or American smart phone, it will work. Even if the sizing is different, they will able to easily help you put in your SIM card.

Which Vietnam SIM Card Should I Buy?
To be honest, I don’t think it will make a huge different whichever SIM card you buy. You just have to compare the pricing for which SIM card offers the most data. In my opinion the best is the Vinaphone unlimited data.
