Italian Restaurant in Seoul, Osteria Orzo, that Michelin Guide Agreed

I just went to Michelin Guide Plated Osteria Orzo, probably one of the best Italian restaurant in Seoul.

Osteria Orzo carpaccio
the best carpaccio I had, even better than some Italian restaurants in Italy

I would not normally go to a western restaurant if I am in Korea, because I try to eat Korean food as much as I can in a short period of time. But it was my friend’s birthday.

Osteria Orzo Vibe Check

When I lived in Brooklyn in 2010 most of the restaurants had a wooden cottage vibe from Colonie to Rucola

It always felt like”we don’t care about interiors and only the taste matter kinda vibe”

Hannam-dong Ostera Orzo had that vibe.

Old furniture (I’m sure it was expensive tho lol) to wooden cottage vibe with open kitchen brought back my memory.

Osteria Orzo Menu and Price

Osteria Orzo is famous for their pasta, but their appetiser was definitely the highlight of the meal.

Cheese sticks are free. It was so goodI had to stop eating it.

I have had pasta in Turin, Ristorante Magorabin, where it blew my mind, and Osteria Orzo gave me the same vibe.

Let me introduce the dishes you have to order.

  • Beef Carpaccio – 19,000 won
  • Truffle French Fries – 9,000 won
  • Uni Pasta – 29,000 won
  • White Ragu Pasta with Truffle – 27,000 won
  • Spicy Crab Risotto – 26,000 won

You can order anything you want obviously but, you MUST order beef carpaccio and White Ragu Pasta.

It is represented first as a whole
Then they wrap it and cut it into pieces
Ragu Pasta was one of the best I have ever had!

Few other menu I though was interesting was the spicy crab risotto.

Vongle and Uni pasta wasn’t mind blowing. Actually it was kind of mediocre. If you are craving vongole, there are better places like So-On table

I cannot say this is the best Italian restaurant in Seoul as I didn’t go to every single one in Korea, but with Michelin Plated review and my visit can guarantee you that you won’t be disappointed.

I was in love with Osteria Orzo so much I went back the second time, but when I arrived I found out they opened another one called Orzo After 8.

Orzo After 8 is the same as Osteria Orzo but has more extensive wine list and opens late. It also feels like a speak easy.

New York Speak Easy, Please Don't Tell
Sorry, I forgot to take a picture, but it is this vibe.

If you are going to drink, I will def recommend you to have a meal here.

Orzo After 8 definitely passes the vibe check. It gives you that relaxing vibe with fully open windows.

The day I went was so breezy I almost felt like I was having a wine in Hawaii lol.

The food menu is very similar to Osteria Orzo. Anyways, if you are looking for a good Italian restaurant in Seoul, I highly recommend Osteria Orzo or Orzo After 8.

Osteria Orzo Location

Osteria Orzo is not far from Itaewon, so you can easily reach if you are based in Itaewon.
