Amazon KF94 Has a Huge Problem
With the new Covid variant, wearing masks have been more important ever. Doctors are saying if you don’t have N95 or KF94, you should be double masking indoors. But with Amazon KF94, there is a huge problem.

Wait I know N95 but what is KF94?
KF94 is Korean government controlled mask that is as good as N95. Sonali Advani from Duke University explains:
Sonali Advani, an assistant professor of medicine at Duke University, explains that KF stands for “Korean filter.” And 94 refers to its filtration efficiency (basically, just how good the mask is at filtering out particles we don’t like), which is 94%. Not surprisingly then, an N95’s filtration efficiency is 95%.
It is readily available on American Amazon and it has been selling like a hot cake because of its cheaper price and easily accessible than N95.
But for some reason it is not easy to find here in London. You can find some at Oseyo, a Korean Supermarket, but not many people know.
Apple also uses the similar technique like the Korean KF94 mask. The reason Apple chose this design was to provide a better fit without becoming uncomfortable.

But here is the problem. KF94 products are controlled by the Korean government and manufactured in Korea.
“In South Korea, if you put a KF94 stamp on your masks and don’t meet the standards, the government will fine you heavily,” he says. “I like these masks because of the quality system in place.”
So most of the Korean KF94 that are on Amazon are counterfeits (not made in Korea), and it is not more protective than a normal dental masks. You are basically wasting money on a fake Korean KF94.
I was asked literally once or twice EVERYTIME I go out to the supermarket where I got the mask from.
