I had to write the only Korean cocktail bar Ogam Taps Bar review to let people know how amazing it is. Hear me out.
Ogam Tapas Bar
Ogam Tapas Bar is Korean cocktail by run by Taeyeol Kim who was a national champion bartender in Korea.
He makes good cocktails, but the reason I love this Korean cocktail bar is the variety of Korean soju.
The Korean soju that you can only buy at Ogam, Hwayo, to rainbow soju bombs.
@rollinjoint My favourite cocktail bar in London. Period 🍸 ##londoncocktails ##sojubomb ##cocktails
He also has a Makgeolli brewery in Finsbury park which you can buy it online.
Makgeolli is cloudy sparkling rice wine that used to be a peasant drink, and our dad generation still thinks that way. But with generation Z rebranding Makgeolli became a cool drink again in Korea. And now, Mr. Kim is trying to bring the coolness in London.
There is another Korean restaurant with amazing cocktails called Korean Dinner Party. The food is just O.K. but I think it is a great place for a date night if you are looking for more like an upscale Korean restaurant.
Menu
One thing you should know is the food portion is very small for what you pay.
So do not go hungry. It is truly Korean tapas.
It is more to nibble while you are drinking than have a full meal.
They were all pretty decent, but the best was the bul dak (spicy chicken). You are able to choose the spicy level from 1 – 4, and for someone who can handle spicy very well, 3 was good enough to make me sweat.
Another good dish was fried chicken. It was more like bigger version of Japanese Karaage.
I also had some other dishes, but it was not worth what you paid (solely because of the portion)
