Arirang Restaurant London is the oldest Korean BBQ restaurant in London.
It was opened in 1975 even before people knew what Korea food was. But does it mean it is the best?

Even though Arirang has been standing still in Soho, the food has not changed much either.
My friends told me that Arirang was the only place that they were able to go. Because it was so expensive, it was a once a month even to go to Arirang.
Also, being the only Korean restaurant, the quality didn’t have to be excellent. Because there were no competition.
The food is just mediocre and the service has always been non-existent.
And with so many new and better Korean BBQ restaurants in London, there is no need to go to Arirang restaurant London.
But why are we still going?
Because of their Samgyetang.

Arirang menu is extensive, but most of the dishes are just mediocre.
The restaurant feels like it grew complacent and just doesn’t care much.
Don’t get me wrong. The food is not bad, but the food is not good either.
If this were the only Korean restaurant in London, I would be happy to go, but that is not the case anymore.
But my friends I still go here. And it is because of their samgyetang.
Samgyetang is chicken soup known to give you stamina during summer. It is also a popular food when you have a cold or flu.
It is quite expensive, but it is the best. I can say it is better than some of the Samgyetang specialty restaurants in Korea.
