So I will tell you how to order, what extra dishes you have to order and pro tips on eating like a true Korean.

ASSA

ASSA London is a London Korean restaurant that focuses on hotpot (jeongol).

ASSA London Menu

ASSA London menu is very long and confusing. I have seen several people seemed stressed out, so I decided to write a blog about what to order and how to order.

First, like I said, you have to order jeongol. There are several types from veggie to non-spicy beef bulgogi to spicy army stew.  My favourite is army stew.

You Have to Always Add Extra Toppings like Ramen and Cheese (Mozzarella)

The best part is the toppings for the hot pot on the right side.

You can add as many as you want, but normally I add extra ramen (it already comes with it, but I always have more and the reason about it later) and mozzarella cheese. You add cheddar cheese, but it feels a bit too overpowering than mozzarella cheese.

Many people add rice cake and ham & sausage (to make more ham).

How to Cook Hotpot

1. When the hotpot starts boiling, put the ramen

2. When ramen starts cooking (around 3 minutes), put the cheese on the top

3. Then you can start eating

4. Cause it’s constantly being boiled, the soup runs low. Ask the waiter to put more soup in (They will do it for free)

5. When it starts boiling, put the second ramen. BAM! Second hot pot right there!! (YUP, this is my pro tip)

Some of the Other Dishes I Liked At Assa London

One of the most popular dishes other than Korean hot pot is Gyeran Mari (Egg Rolled Omelette).

It has cheese inside of the egg roll and it is massive. It is worth the price and you will not regret it.

Also Jaeyook Bokkeum is another great dish.

It is a grilled spicy pork and for some reason it has that char grilled taste which brings a strong umami.

I took my friends who were their very first Korean food experience and they absolutely loved Jaeyook Bokkeum.

The last is Dolsot Bibimbap. It is a hot stone bibimbap.

Booking

So many people wonder if you can make a reservation at ASSA London. But I am sorry to tell you this, they don’t.

Whatever time you go, there will always be a line. Especially on the weekends. But they expanded with another floor.

So the que goes down pretty fast (about 30 minutes to an hour). smaller number group is better too.
