As a Korean-American, living in Miami was a struggle with very limited Korean food. There is no Koreatown Miami, but with determination and research, I found few good places I went. And here are my best Korean restaurants in Miami.
Sushi Cafe & Shilla Korean BBQ
Shilla Korean BBQ is the most authentic Korean restaurant in my opinion.
Whenever, I go to a Korean restaurant, I always try Jjampong.
Jjampong is a Korean-Chinese spicy noodle dish.
It is important to use the right noodle which is Jun-hwa-myeon (중화면). Most restaurants use udon noodle which is TOTALLY wrong.
But at Shilla Korean, they were using the right noodle and the taste was on point. So after that I have been going to Shilla very often to have Jjampong.
Other dishes are good as well, and authentic. So if you are well experienced in Korean food this is THE place to go.
The interior is not the nicest but doesn’t that mean they are confident with their food?
Bulgogi Bistro
Bulgogi bistro is another great restaurant near Miami Airport.
Because Bulgogi bistro is only focused on Korean food, it has a wide arrange of menu and also many dishes for first time Korean food experiencers.
If you are looking for an authentic Korean food with some western influence this is would be the best Korean restaurants in Miami.
Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ
Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ is not necessarily Korean BBQ but it is almost the same.
They are a famous chain you can find around the world and I go here when I crave BBQ. The only downside is that they don’t have ssamjang.
Also the interior is modern where it could be a good place to bring your parents if they wanted to experience Asian BBQ for the first time.
By the way, Gyu-Kaku is great but I always left with a bit of sadness cause it felt like something was missing.
Soju Miami
But don’t worry, cause you are in luck.
Soju Miami which is a true Korean BBQ just opened in Wynwood.
Unfortunetly for me, it was after I moved to London, but all my friends are raving about it and I cannot wait to try it when I go back to Miami.
Kimchi Mart
I just want to include Kimchi mart on the list because I know a lot of my Korean friends who moved to Miami were asking.
In New York, you could easily just go to H-Mart, but in Miami, for a long time I couldn’t find a Korean supermarket.
It is a bit far from Miami, but there is a Korean supermarket called Kimchi Mart.
It has a great selection, and if you are moving down to Miami from New York cause your job, here you go! (It seems like all the companies are moving to Miami btw).
