Best Restaurants Near Wynwood Wall (feat. Cocktail Bar)

Whenever my friend visit Miami from New York, the second place after the beach, I take them to Wynwood Wall. Even thought they see gravities everywhere in NY, they are always impressed with the amount of gratifies in one town. So after spending a little bit looking around, we go to restaurants near Wynwood Wall.

So, I want to list all the restaurants that I took my picky New York friends (and that they agreed they enjoyed).

Le Chick

Le Chick is right on the trend with what Millennials like. The exposed concrete with pink neon sign for the perfect instagram and open kitchen vibe.

If you know me, I am korean and I used to grow up eating fried chicken all my life.

So I crave fried chicken almost everyday. I just can’t eat it everyday cause of my high cholesterol and blood pressure.

But when I was in Wynwood I couldn’t miss a chance to try Le Chick Wynwood.

It is walkable from Wynwood wall and probably the best restaurants near Wynwood wall

Like I already mentioned the restaurant is very cute and on the weekends it almost feels like a bar that serves food.

Their rotisserie is awesome but I was blown with the fried chicken burger. The sauce was just on point.

And for someone who doesn’t like vegetable, I really enjoyed the green we ordered. I think it was called beans sprout lol.

If you live around Wynwood, this is definetly a place to just come casually, or do take out all the time.

1-800-Lucky

1-800-Lucky is a massive food hall that turns into a massive bar at night.

In my opinion, the foods in general are mediocre Asian food (as an Asian). But there are many choices so if you are with friends with different taste, this is a perfect spot.

If you are coming after Wynwood wall, it is only a short walk.

Check out all the different restaurants in 1-800-Lucky here

They also have this really cute ice cream that I tried to take a perfect picture and ended up just melting real quick.

It is tasty and fun, so you should definitely try it.

Alter

If there was a Michelin restaurant in Miami, this would have been one.

Alter is a tasting menu restaurant and the menus are seasonal so it should be fresh.

I believe it is one of the most romantic restaurants near Wynwood wall.

Every dish was impeccably well curated and the food was tasty.

I have been to few Michelin star restaurants like Brooklyn Fare and Per Se, and it did do well to feel very high end.

Some of the dishes were a bit dubious and pretentious, but I am glad that Miami is evolving in the foodie scene and how it would change in the future.

If you don’t necessarily need to stay near Wynwood for food, I would recommend few places in South Beach and you can check it on my related Post.

Coyo Taco

Coyo taco is probably the restaurant nearest to Wynwood Walls.

It on the block where all the chic people hang out at Panther Coffee. I want to say Panther Coffee is like the Le Colombe in New York.

By the way, Coyo Taco has literally over 4000 reviews on Google and 4.4 star rating. That is no joke.

You cannot possibly maintain a star rating that high with that many reviews unless it is really good.

And I agree with everybody who reviewed. It is one of the coolest and nicest Mexican restaurant in Wynwood.

OKKKKKK… Now they just opened a restaurant called BAKAN, Mexican restaurant, even closer to Wynwood wall, and everybody is raving about it.

I haven’t been, but if you want a proper sit down meal, I would recommend going to Bakan, and if you just want to grab a fast casual food, Coyo Taco it is.

Kyu

As an Asian I always looked for the best Asian restaurant in Miami.

For a long time that was almost impossible to find any good Asian restaurants.

So when I heard the about the opening of Kyu I had to try.

Okay it is not the most authentic Asian food but I can see they are really trying and for non-Asians I think it is pretty decent.

They are mixing the Stone Bowl bibimbap for us which was a nice touch. And to be honest it was pretty good

For someone who has eaten Asian food all my life I will not highly recommend to Asian who are craving Asians, but if you are someone who is new to Asian food or looking for a fusion Asian restaurant, Kyu will be awesome.

One thing I would highly highly praise about this restaurant is their interior is very nice and the way they present our Asian food is also very very nice so… that’s it for Kyu.

La Latina

La latina is not necessarily a restaurant near Wynwood wall, but it is worth a try.

It is a Venezuelan restaurant. Maybe a lot of people don’t know, but Miami only had the influence by Cubans but also by Venezuelans.

So, if you have know this, you won’t be surprised to see a lot of Venezuelan restaurants in Miami.

In Wynwood, they are actually several Venezuelan restaurants but I really liked La Latina (I don’t know much about Venezuelan food, so I might be wrong. So I will list all the other Venezuelan here).

La Latina Miami has a very vibrant and exciting interior with and are not shy with their ingredients.

Cielito artisan pops Among all those ice cream shops and when would serendipity might be the most popular one because of its cute interior design but I think this artisan pops is my favourite. I feel very fresh and clean and it’s not very overpowering and it is something that you could eat again and again and again.

Mojito Company

I have already talked about Mojito Company on my other blog posts, but this is a must go.

They only sell mojitos, but the best part is that they use real sugar cane which makes their mojito superb.

It is also very near Wynwood wall and after a long walk around Wynwood, this is THE place to cool down if you are into drinking cocktails!

Ice creams

If you are visiting when would of course you have to go have some icecream.

Because of it’s weather, they have the BEST icecreams. and you will easily find it in Wynwood.

Two of my favourite icecrem parlors are Cielito Artisan Pops and Serendipity.

Cielito is very refreshing and light and Serendipity is on the heavier side. Both ice cream is absolutely fantastic.

So if you are visiting Miami during the hottest month, don’t forget to try some of the Miami finest ice creams.

La Palapa Hondurena

This is not the most trendy looking restaurant, but one of the perks of visiting Miami is that you do not have to go to South America to try some of the food.

La Palapa Honduran sells Honduran food, and it is not well known compare to other countries in South America, but it was absolutely gorgeous.

I tried the conch soup and the Honduran style taco, and I was surprised that I have never experienced this amazing cuisine.

Michael’s Genuine

Michael’s Genuine is one of the hardest restaurant to get a reservation, but luckily and magically we got it.

The indoors are nice, but eating outdoors is special.

You will be eating around all the luxury brands and it makes it a unique experience.

The food was nothing special but if you are looking for a vibe, this is a place to go (But I think there is more hype and substance to be honest).
