Are you looking for the best Vietnamese in Kingsland road? I got you. I ranked all the Vietnamese restaurants with their specialty.
Song Que
Song Que is probably the most famous Vietnamese restaurant in Kingsland road. Even with extensive menu, most of the dishes are pretty good.
When my friends visit from Korea and when everybody is hungover in the morning, this is a place I take them.
They have everything from most generic dish, sweet and sour chicken to Combo pho (with tripe and tendons).

Tay Do
Tay Do is another Vietnamese restaurant in Kingsland road that is contributing to make Kingsland road as THE Vietnamese town in London.
They make the best Hanoi Buncha and Bun Bo Hue. I just want to say that there are many restaurants that sell Buncha, but many of them say it is Buncha but actually is Thit Nuong (which the sauce and noodles are already mixed).
There are only few that sells Buncha that President Obama had in Hanoi (i.e. Bun Bun Bun, Viet Grill and Cay Tre).
Btw, if you ask me what my favourite Vietnamese dish is, I will say Buncha. I had it almost every single day when I was staying in Vietnam for a month. It is that good!
Of course, it is not the same like having it in Hanoi on the streets, but Tay Do felt the most similar.

Sen Viet : For vegetarian and Vegan
Sen Viet is the only and best Vietnamese restaurant in whole of London serving just vegetarian and vegan food.
I went there recently cause my friend was vegan and for someone who is not vegan I was quite surprised how good it was.
I have had few vegan restaurants recently and I am getting confused as some vegan food is tasting better than meat (Am I turning into a vegan?!).
Some dishes were slightly sweeter as I don’t like sweet food (and even desserts), but the platter was absolutely amazing.

Mien Tay
Mien Tay is where many celebrities went from Benedict Cumberbatch to Chow Yun-fat. I am not sure if the owner just had good connections, but it used to be one of my go to place.
Why?
Cause they have lunch special (an appetizer and pho) for just 10 pounds. Also they give you free prawn crackers and orange at the end.
It is the most reasonable Vietnamese restaurant in Kingsland Road and it still tastes amazing (Although good service is non-existent).
Personally my favourite dish here is Bun Bo Hue which has a stronger taste than other restaurants like Song Que or Tay Do.

Viet Grill
With nicer interior and spacious space, I always thought Viet Grill would be more catered for newbies of Vietnamese food. You know, trying to compensate the mediocre taste with nice decor type of restaurants.
But it was the only Vietnamese restaurant in Kingsland road that opened at 11:30AM. So I tried and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was.
Bahn Cuon which is a steamed rice rolled crepes is the most famous dish at Viet Grill. Their Pho is bit more peppery which I love and became my favourite Vietnamese in Kingsland road.
Bun Bun Bun
Bun Bun Bun is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Kingsland road in terms of serving big portioned Bun Cha.
Tay Do might have the best Bun Cha, but it always feel I could have a bit more. Bun Bun Bun portion is so big, you get full mid way. And I LOVE IT.
It is also has that young and hip vibe where many young Asians AND non-Asians come.
