Style & Character
Edition hotel is what we call a Boutique hotel.
Not only they provide excellent service and accommodation but also has its own unique personality.
It was created by Ian Scheager who coined the term boutique hotel with Morgans Hotel in New York a long long time ago.
A few years ago Marriott hired him to design the new brand EDITION hotels.
He also used to be the co-owner and a doorman of the legendary New York club Studio 54.
Imagine the owner of Studio 54 building a hotel.

LOBBY
With everything white and gold, it makes you feel like a luxury heaven.
But, it is not obnoxious nor over-the-top.
With all the greens in the lobby, it balances out the Trump Tower feeling. It makes you feel like entering a place of luxury but also warming.
This I can definitely see it as a trend happening to other hotels.
ROOMS
I stayed in the standard king overlooking the pool and the beach.
The view is breathtaking, but you can also see the bungalow suites from our side. I know it is cheeky but couldn’t help but look at the people inside the bungalow. Sexy models and guys having fun across from me (like for real).
Standard king is a decent size for two people (and a cheeky friend who just wants to crash on the daybed) and the bathroom is big.
The rooms are bigger than other hotels like SLS or Delano (which is under renovation now).

It has a daybed where you can look at the ocean view.
I always thought beds would be comfortable in modern hotels, but I realised it is not always the case.
Some are really shitty if you travel long enough (AGAIN! Hudson Hotel in New York which is part of Accor now).
There are few other Marriott hotels around but with the size of the room and the vibe, Edition hotel is definitely the Best Marriott Hotel in Miami
Facilities
The beach is a step away from the hotel and you can just walk 20 seconds.
The great thing about these ocean side hotel is that they provide private sun-beds and umbrellas, so you don’t have to rent or carry these heavy chairs and umbrellas to the beach.
But there are times when you don’t want to get sands, and rather stay at the pool.
Edition Hotel have two pools. One being more casual and not many beds and the other pool being more like a lounge pool with plenty of chairs and cocktail service.
The pools are heated so you don’t have to worry about jumping in and get ready for a heart attack.
But you can also enjoy the sun on the grass. They have a huge area with grass and beds so if you are more of a park like environment person, you can relax there.
If you walk pass the grass, there is a bar called Tropicale, in between the pools.
But you can always walk down Collins avenue, and go to great restaurants as well (Here are some recommendations).

RESTAURANT
One of the reason some hotels are boutique is that they team up with excellent restaurants or chefs that represents the culture of the city.
In Edition Hotel, they teamed up with Jean George. Matador Room is Chef Jean Georges’ next venture with Latin cuisine influenced by Spanish, Caribbean and South American flavors with all locally produced ingredients.

THE BASEMENT
The pools are great, the restaurants are great (Jean George Restaurant is here).
But the best part is the Basement (Click the link for more pics). They have a club, ice rink and a bowling alley for fun! I mean a hotel with a bowling alley with blasting music!
Edition really put a lot of details from the rooms, restaurant to amenities. The hotel screams luxury but also chillaxed.
I know you are looking for the best Marriott hotel in Miami, but Edition hotel can be pricy sometimes.
So if you are looking for Marriott hotels that are more reasonable, I would also recommend W hotel on South Beach.
