This is my honest Standard Spa Miami Review. As it is a spa hotel, there are little things to enjoy the spa from your own room to the pool, so I want to give you all the detail as well.
Standard Spa Miami
What makes hotel guests comfortable and happy? A comfortable bed, a nice pool and hotel bars.
But when there is a dedicated spa on every corner of the hotel, it is called heaven.
Standard hotel in Miami Florida is a hotel that is different than other hotels in Miami.
Delano, Edition, Faena hotel and others have spa services but it cannot compete with the Standard Spa.

They call themselves The Standard Spa because they prioritize the spa experience.
Even the rooms are more of a spa than just guest rooms.
So before I jot down what I think about the Standard hotel in Miami, Florida, if you are looking to relax and use the spa a lot, STANDARD SPA IS A WAY TO GO.
LOCATION
Standard hotel is on Belle Isle next to the bayside of South Beach.
To make it sound easier if you are planning to go to the beach or Ocean Drive on South Beach, you will have to take a cab or walk at least 20 minutes.
It is not the best location for those activities.
However, if you cross the Venetian bridge towards South Beach (5 minute walk), there are some nice restaurants and cafes near (e.g. Lucali, Panther Coffee, Japanito, Barceloneta).

Also, it is not far from Lincoln Road (about 15 minute walk) where you can have nice lunch/dinner at Juvia or Yard Bird.

SPA
The biggest reason you are booking the Standard Spa is because you want to use the spa.
If you don’t, it will be a waste of money and time, because there are better hotels with similar rate (e.g. location and room quality -> If you are looking for a better location and room quality, click here).
Standard spa is true to its name. It is relaxing, comfortable and makes your heart warm and soft. As you go through the hotel lobby, you will immerse with a peaceful tropical garden and a key west like rooms.
Many rooms have an outdoor soaking tubs where you can get an amazing spa service.
Also, on every corner there are places for your spa service.
Near the pool there are tubs where you can do mud pack over looking the ocean (Can you imagine an outdoor spa service with an amazing view).
Also, they have indoor and outdoor hydrotherapy area, free to hotel guests. Rather than explaining it with just words, I am attaching a map (with explanation).
On the Third Floor (Top-Right Side Corner)
– Free: Hamam (a Lounge where you can relax like the picture), Sauna and Steam Room, Gym
– Services: Scrub Room, Treatment Rooms and manicures/ pedicures (not free). Here is the link for the extensive services. I would suggest to ask the spa to recommend as it is like 100 services 🙂
Mud Lounge (Bottom-Left Side Corner): have to buy a service package
The Pool Area
– Free: You will be able to see it in one sight when you get there, but there isn’t any spa services but more like self service hot-tubs, shower booth and arctic plunge (cold water)
Outdoor Bath Rooms (Only with Bath Terrace Rooms)
– You will be able to get basic services for the bath (not free)
ROOMS
OK, let’s talk about the rooms.
I stayed at the bath terrace large.
The room says 415 square feet, which is not too small and not too big.
But because there is a day bed and a king size bed, the room seems a little smaller and tight.
On the website, it says the bed is comfortable, but to be honest, it is not the most comfortable bed.
It makes squeaky sound and the mattress seems thin (but it might be just the room we got, others might not be like that hopefully).
If you can and you should choose the one with a bath tub, because it really makes a huge difference.
I used the outdoor bathtub everyday and it really is worth a try.
It was a real treat where you cannot have at other hotels with the price we paid.
If you are on the verge of choosing a Garden Large or Bath Terrace Medium, I would just go for Bath Terrace Medium as the room size doesn’t make a huge difference. So price wise and value wise the rank would be…
If Same Price: Garden Large and Bath Terrace Medium –> GO FOR BATH TERRACE MEDIUM
- Bath Terrace Medium
- Bath Terrace Large
- Standard Medium
- Garden Medium
- Garden Large
- Standard Large
It is just my opinion, so it really depends on what you want and need.
For me, I prioritized the outdoor tub and then the space, so I chose with the bath terrace.
But price wise I would go for the Bath Terrace Medium next time I visit the Standard Spa as the room wasn’t spacious anyways for being “large”.
If you are not choosing the outdoor bathtub, I don’t think it’s even a bad idea to just go with the Standard Medium and save some money for something else.
POOL
There is an “infinity” pool overlooking the ocean.
The sun beds are yellow and it makes you feel like you are at a luxury Greece beach resort.
According to the website map, they have an “infinity” pool, but personally I don’t think you can call it an “infinity.”
Because the sun beds are blocking the view and you don’t feel like the water view is infinite.
They also have a hot tub and a cold tub.
I didn’t see any other hotels in Miami, South Beach that has a tub. I believe Standard Spa is the only place that has a hot and cold tube. Please let me know if I am wrong.
RESTAURANTS
Standard Spa has three places for food and drinks – Lido Bayside Grill, Juice Cafe & Terrace and Lido Bar & Lounge.
Lido Bayside Grill is worth a try, because the food is decent and the view is amazing (especially at night).
Lido Bayside Grill serves traditional Mediterranean and American food.
Also, the food is not hotel-expensive but more like regular restaurant price.

did not try Lido Bar and Lounge, because Lido Bayside Grill had a bar as well. But if you did try, please leave us a comment on what you thought.
This was my Standard Spa Miami review. Hope this helped and I would be appreciated if you can comment on what needs to be improved!
