Before Bonchon chicken, There was Kyochon Fried Chicken
We all know Korea has been on people’s map not because of Psy’s Gangnam Style, but for their amazing Korean fried chicken. It became a sensation after Bonchon introduced soy garlic fried chicken.
But before Bonchon, there was Kyochon chicken. The rumor is that Kyochon chicken didn’t want to open a franchise in America. Then Bonchon copied the recipe and the rest is history. But even before Kyochon and Bonchon, fried chicken delivery was a staple among Koreans.
Korean fried chicken delivery is very well known in Korea. You order it usually late night and eat it with beer which is called chicken and beer or chimek. It is one of my favorite things to do in Korea.
Order one chicken and beer, eat and drink with friends watching some K-drama and giggle. But how do you order when you don’t speak Korean. So, here is how to master Korean fried chicken delivery in Seoul, but first let’s see what are the best 10 Korean fried chicken delivery in Seoul, so you can choose which one you want. If you want to skip to just “how to order” scroll all the way to the bottom.

Goobne Chicken (굽네 치킨)
Goobne Chicken is my number one Korean fried chicken delivery joint since they opened more than 10 years ago. They are known for not deep frying it but rather putting in an oven. So it is a bit healthier(?) than other fried chicken restaurant. But the best part is that they only use chicken thigh and legs. It is all boneless and is super soft and moist.
They recently launched galbi taste boneless chicken (If you are looking for the best and cheap Korean Galbi BBQ restaurant check here). It is the boneless chicken on steroid. They give you extra sauce and you can use that sauce with rice to make it into your own fried rice.
Try Fried Chicken Cooking Class which I Learnt So Much Even as a Korean-American
There is also a fried chicken cooking class which I really enjoyed. The guide comes out to pick you up and we go through the traditional market where you learn so much even for someone who grew up in Korea. And of course, you learn how to make Korean fried chicken inside a really old traditional house and eat the food we made with 10 different Korean traditional wine. I would def recommend doing Korean fried chicken class if you are into Korean fried chicken or want to learn about the real Korea.

Kyochon Chicken (교촌치킨)
Kyochon chicken is one of the reason Korean fried chicken went global. Soy garlic taste fried chicken became a phenomena after NYTimes wrote an article about this amazing food.
Bonchon chicken even copied the whole recipe. Kyochon chicken soy garlic is a good choice for fried chicken delivery, but I think there are so many other options you can only try in Kyochon, Korea.
After sweeping away the idea of soy garlic, Kyochon is trying it one more time with salsal chicken. It is basically a boneless chicken made of chicken breast and legs. The chicken is battered with rice flour, and it makes it extremely crispy like eating a chip. It was one of the best fried chicken I had recently.
Buy Seoul Pass If It Is Your First Time Visiting Seoul
If this is your first time coming to Seoul, I highly recommend you to get Seoul Pass. It covers about 35 attraction and 50% discounts on 30 of attraction. Check out all the 35 free attractions here.
I think it’s a great value especially if you coming into Seoul from Incheon Airport by express train and are going to at least few of the palaces in Seoul. It can also be used as a subway/ bus card. I always get it for my American friends when they visit. Klook and Viator both sell Discover Seoul Pass. I guess choose the one that is on promotion or just go for Klook, cause they have better customer service in Korea.

BBQ Chicken (BBQ 치킨)
BBQ chicken recently opened in Ktwon New York, and it is massive. It has been around for more than 20 years, and their deep fried chicken is the best. It has been a trend to be experimental with our fried chicken, but BBQ chicken will always be original. Just a simple thinly battered crispy Korean fried chicken. Nothing can really beat the authenticity of their classic BBQ fried chicken delivery.
Nene Chicken (네네 치킨)
Nene chicken is getting their fame with the snow flakes. Instead of dipping in a soy garlic sauce, they are using flakes. It is cheese flakes and it can be over-powering the taste of chicken. But if you are into cajun food, you will love this.
Nene chicken gained their fame when they changed the packaging industry and the Korean fried chicken delivery in Korea. They started using more sophisticated package that will hold the chicken, coke, radish and the sauces. Nene chicken uses one big pizza box, and put a section to hold everything. So, instead of carrying separately all you need was to carry the handle that holds everything.
BHC Chicken (BHC 치킨)
BHC chicken is now the number 2 fried chicken seller in Korea. It almost went bust 5 years ago, but BBQ chicken bought the company and reinvented themselves. To be honest, I prefer BBQ chicken but they are known for their curry chicken. It is similar to Nene chicken with the flakes.
Puradak Chicken (푸라닭)
Puradak chicken is gaining its popularity in Busan. It is a mixture of Goobne and Kyochon chicken. It even has a carbonara style fried chicken. The packaging is so cute as well. If you are visiting Busan and craving some fried chicken, try Puradak chicken.
Kkanbu Chicken (깐부 치킨)
Kkanbu chicken is more like a luxury fried chicken. Kkanbu is a sit down restaurant rather than a delivery. Mid century style interior is on fleek, but the scallion fried chicken is to die for. The only problem is that they don’t delivery to home. So if you want to try it, you will have to go to the store. However, Kkanbu chicken has become one of my favorite fried chicken restaurant because of the cleanliness and the excellent quality.
Norang Chicken (노랑 치킨)
Norang chicken is a traditional Korean fried chicken delivery. They had a popup shop at Galleria department store and I had a tasting and fell in love with it. You can only find it in Busan, but I guarantee you that it will be all over Korea soon.
