Eating Breakfast outside is a luxury but a lifestyle choice
When it comes to breakfast, I like to eat out. For me, cooking at home becomes very limited to eggs on toast, yogurt or cereal. And you get bored time to time. Anyhow, we don’t have all that time to make steak eggs or breakfast burrito. You know, a minute is critical in the morning. That is one of the reason I like going out for breakfast.
One of my dream of living in NY was to grab a coffee and an sausage/egg/cheese on a bagel and strut down Soho. You have so many choices to eat from a deli, food cart/truck and a sit-down restaurant. You can basically find a breakfast place on every block like finding Starbucks.
Walter’s serves excellent Southern Soul Food for Breakfast where you also get the Southern Hospitality
From Brooklyn to New York, there are wonderful well known breakfast restaurants from Cafe Luluc, Buttermilk Channel, Junior’s to Rucola (where I saw Ethan Hawk having breakfast). But I want to talk about this cool restaurant Walter’s.
Fort Greene is one of the hottest town in New York right now. With beautiful townhouses to the park, it will make you feel more relaxed in the morning than eating breakfast in Manhattan or Downtown Brooklyn. If you have some time you should walk down Dekalb ave and Lafayette ave in Fort Greene after breakfast.
If you are craving southern comfort food in the morning, you don’t need to go to meat packing, Cookshop (Which is also excellent). Because Walter’s in Fort Greene serves perfect breakfast. The food is standard fare and it’s done very well. The location, decor and service are excellent. Also, sit at the bar as you get extra attention from the barman!
