FINALLY! There is a 5 star hotel in Apgujeong-dong! It is a Luxury line in Hyatt hotel called Andaz hotel. But is it really good though? Here is my honest Andaz Seoul Gangnam review.
Andaz Hotel Location
I already wrote my top 7 luxury 5 star hotels in Seoul, but there are many 5 star hotels in Itaewon or Hannam-dong.
But there hasn’t been any luxury hotels in Garosugil or Apgujeong-dong where many travellers come.
So when Andaz hotel opened, it was a good news for people who were looking stay near Garosugil (or Apgujeong-dong / Sinsa-dong).
Andaz hotel is close to Dosan park where all high end restaurants to Hermes is at. Also, It is 10 minutes walk to Garosugil and 15 minutes walk to Rodeo road.
The hotel is connected to Apgujeong station (Line 3, Orange).

Andaz Hotel Facility
Like a luxury 5 star hotel, Andaz hotel has everything from spa, indoor pool and a high end gym.
It also has a food court and the famous Blue Bottle Coffee. I wrote a blog post about my favourite restaurant in the food court and you can read about it here.
Style and Character
The reason I decided to write a Andaz Seoul Gangnam Review was casue of some things that didn’t match with the brand image.
Andaz hotel is a concept hotel where it incorporates the culture and the feeling of the neighbourhood and city.
When I stayed at the Andaz hotel in Hawaii, I felt and smelt Hawaii.
But for some reason Andaz Seoul felt and smelt like a business hotel (Maybe it was built for that purpose, I don’t know). It didn’t have any feeling of Apgujeong-dong nor Seoul.
The Rooms
Don’t get me wrong. The rooms are exactly what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Clean, spacious and high tech.
I always think bathrooms are important when you choose a hotel and Andaz hotel had an awesome bathroom.
It had two sinks, a small makeup stand, bathtub and a shower. It was just my dream bathroom I wished I had in my home.
Conclusion
If you are planning to spend a lot of time in Gangnam, I would definitely recommend Andaz hotel.
It is slightly disappointing to have a boring interior, but it is not a big issue.
