So, when I visited Buenos Aires, Argentina, I decided to stay in Palermo. I did a lot of research and I was debating between San Telmo, Recoleta and Palermo. I ended up with Palermo because the town seemed more relaxed, young and vibrant at night. And it was. Palermo had everything I needed – Hipster restaurant, trendy bars, gay bars, steak house and boutique hotels. So, young millennial hipsters, if you were looking to stay in other area, please reconsider and read through my post! This is the rank of Best hotels in Palermo, Buenos Aires and why you should stay here.
For All the Hipster, I Say Palermo Boutique Hotels in Buenos Aires Is Where You Got to FOCUS
Shorditch in London, Williamsburg in New York, Wynwood in Miami and Palermo in Buenos Aires. It is a town of young and hip people. Full of cafes, boutique shops and bars. If you are a type of person who likes to stay in Williamsburg than Time Square in New York, Palermo Soho is where you have to stay. Otherwise, it is not the best place to stay as the tourist spots are quite a drive and the subway system isn’t the best in Buenos Aires, Argentina. If you don’t have the time to read all of it, you can click below to skip the sections. But if you are here are the top Palermo hotels in Buenos Aires!
Home Hotel
When you think of a town that is growing or say, up-coming, there are people who creates the personality and the image of the town. The town becomes the people’s extended self in a way. The people’s character melts in the town’s personality. Home hotel is one of them that defines Palermo and helped become what it is now. OK! I might be exaggerating a little bit, but Home hotel has been around for more than 10 years and has lived the change. So we have to give credit for being around the block for a decade! It has helped Palermo become the young, hip and lively as it is now. So my first choice on best boutique hotels in Palermo Soho Buenos Aires is Home Hotel. If you are curious what my criteria are in best boutique hotels are, you can read it here.
Home hotel is a small boutique hotel to the bone. It is hidden from the trees that cover the building. It feels like you are entering a shire of frodo’s house in the Lord of the Ring. The lobby is filled with mid-century furniture and tasteful music. Tom Rixton, the founder, is a music producer and U2 even played once in the garden. So, get it? how good the music they are playing would be good?
Home Hotel Is a Boutique Hotel That Represents Palermo, Buenos Aires but Most of all, The Owner’s Personality of Hip and Musical
One of the reason I want to say Home hotel in Palermo, Buenos Aires is number one is their detail on the little things. Every room has it’s own character and the rooms are filled with details to welcome you from a long trip. When you walk into the room, they put iced-cucumber-water and a small guide book that you can use. And it is not filled with advertisement but rather the owner’s true favorite places – he restaurants and small stores that represents Palermo. It was so useful and cute, it made me think that I would love to make one for Miami and New York. It is also decorated with local wall papers and interiors. You can feel and experience the owner’s personality and taste in the room.
We stayed at the pool side suite which has a small private outdoor space with two sun-beds. The perk of having this room was that you get to enjoy the fire place, especially when it gets chilly at night. It is totally secluded with branches and nature covering the wall, and it feels like you are in one of those South African resorts. But, surprisingly, it is just a step away from all the bars and clubs and at the same time, you are still able to get the rest you need.
The Quality, The Service and The Room at Home Hotel is a True 5 Star Treatment
There are only 18 rooms at Home Hotel, and every room is well built. A lot of boutique hotels nowadays would have a hit or miss, especially the bigger ones. However, Home hotel is Palermo doesn’t treat guests any differently. Each rooms are spacious and true to it’s name, it feels like home. The rooms are filled with mid-centurty furtniture and a twist of modern. And it doens’t give you discomfort, but rather a relaxing environment. The bed is comfortable, and the airconditioner is quite. the windows are floor to ceiling and it opens all the way where it feels like an out door hotel (Pool Side Suite). Y’all know how obsessed I am with windows that open all the way (and my dream house one day to have something like that).
Palermo Hotels in Buenos Aires Cannot Compete with the One and Only Home Hotel
The breakfast is far better than any of the hotels I have been. I want to say it is probably flat out the best breakfast I have had in a hotel. It is not greasy nor boring like other hotels, but tasty and fun. They bring it out tapas style and you can always order more. You can see it below the pictures. They also change it slightly different everyday, but the main would be scambled eggs, toasted bread, variety of condiments, yogurt, fresh juice and more. So it is a tapas style buffet. Even if you decided to stay at somewhere else, it is worth a jorney to try the breakfast here!
I am sad we didn’t have enough time to use the spa, but if any of my readers have please let us know and help our reader help decide on which hotels they want to choose!
At last, the price isn’t really friendly and you could see why. The service, the quality, the location beats the price and you will see why it is worth it when you stay!

Legado Mitico Hotel
Legado Mitico is my second choice. One of the thing about Home hotel is that it’s quite a walk to the main area in Palermo (about 10 minute walk). Also, you have to cross a train station, and at night, it isn’t the most pleasant experience. It is not bad, but sometime you want to stay in the center and Legado Mitico hotel is literally in the center. You don’t have to worry about walking down a sketchy road or cross a train station. It is in the center of Palermo Soho and you will be encountering hipsters in front of your door steps.
Because you are in the center, it can get noisy at night if you get a room that is facing the street, so make sure you ask for a room facing the courtyard, unless you are going to party all night. Also, each room has their own character and theme, so before you book the room, do some research on what you want.
Legado Mitico Hotel is Reasonable and IN the Main Area of Palermo, Buenos Aires
Another thing about Home hotel is that it is a bit pricey and not everyone can afford to stay for the entire holiday. Legado Mitico can solve that problem for you. It is reasonable and sometimes it can go under $100. So look out for some lucky promotions or deals!
At last, it is like literally across from Peuteo Bar which is a very decent gay bar where I went every night. OK, I don’t think a gay bar should make this hotel the second, but ya know sometimes it can be convinient!
OK! So if you want somewhere close to the town, reasonable priced room and near to (gay) bars, Legado Mitico should be your first choice! I mean it is absolutely in the best location in Palermo!

Magnolia boutique hotel
My third choice is Magnolia Boutique Hotel in Palermo, Buenos Aires. I was debating between Mine hotel and Magnolia, but I decided on Magnolia, becuase of the cute history of the hotel. The hotel was originally a priest home, and they seemed to kept the history very well. Every room has a key that feels like entering your priests office, if you have been to one.
It is rather a small hotel, and the staffs will know your ins and outs. They are on top of their game and makes sure if you are feeling comfortable. Maybe a little too close, but who doesn’t want to feel special when you are traveling. But, one thing that will bother some people is that you will have to knock on the door to open the front gate. And sometime you don’t want to be greeted by your concierge when you are sh*t faced.
Magnolia Hotel Was a Home for A Priest Turned into a Hotel that Carried the Style and Fashion of The Priest
So when you get to Home hotel, you feel like entering a nice street with comforting people. But when you first start looking for the Magnolia Boutique hotel, you will realize that it feels like a sketchier side of Palermo. At least I felt like it at first, but you slowly get used to it. But if you are a more cautionary person, you will not totally feel comfortable. And I would recommend Legado Mitico.
Also, if you are a person who just want to be a ghost rather than be noticed all the time, this won’t be your favorite as the staff will know everything about you. The rooms are rather small but has full of character. With wooden furniture, it feels like you are at a barn, and the dining area has a small cute outdoor space. The roof has a nice lounge where you can relax and chill and look over the city (not much, but still!)
The reason it is my third choice is because of the price is reasonable and the staffs are on fleek!

RUNNER UP: Mine hotel & Fierro Hotel
There were two boutique hotels in Palermo Buenos Aires when I was considering where to stay – and Mine hotel and Fierro hotel came up. Mine hotel is somewhat a B level version of Home hotel. The pros of Mine hotel is that it is closer to the busy streets and you don’t have to walk through sketchy streets. But if you don’t really mind walking down sketchy streets and would take a cab everywhere, I would rather go for Home hotel.
I am throwing Fierro hotel on the list even though I haven’t been to it. I just heard a lot of good reviews about the hotel from people. So if you are considering where to stay, you can also put that in mind.
