[Best Dalat Vietnamese Restaurants and Bars that I LOVED]

Dalat Vietnam is not like Hanoi or HCMC. It is a lot quieter and calmer city, but it doesn’t mean that there is nothing going on. There are plenty of things to do in Dalat (that you can only do it in Dalat), eat and places to go out at night. This is all the places where I went to eat and was good and the places I went for nightlife in Dalat.

Where to Eat in Dalat

BBQ Mo Te

One thing I realized is that there are a lot of BBQ restaurants here than other cities in Vietnam. I think it is because the weather in Dalat is a lot chillier all year around than HCMC or Hanoi. I love my Korean BBQ and I had to try what it’s like to have a Vietnamese BBQ.

I was recommended to go to BBQ Mo Te which is where all the locals go. It was absolutely gorgeous, but the only problem that it was like legit local. They didn’t have any English menu and nobody spoke any English, so I had to use my super power (body language) to order. At the end, I got everything I wanted (Basically I just asked for recommendation through Google translator).

I also had snails which is a popular food in Dalat. I was skeptical, but it was actually good.

Subsitute: Fungi Chingu Night Market

Here is more foreigner friendly and was recommended by our tour guide. I didn’t have the time to go, but according to Google reviews and Trip Advisor, this place seem to be a thumbs up!

Pizza on the River

Near the night market (or near the river), you will see people cooking on the street with one grill. There will be multiple chairs surrounding the lady, and people sitting around her watching.

This is where you get your Vietnamese style pizza. Not at those tourist traps in town. The pizza is made of rice paper. And the ingredients are cheese, ham, scallion and egg on top of the rice paper (with lots of sauce). Just writing this is making me want to eat it again.

This is a street food, so if you are not fond of street food, I don’t think you will like it. But for me it was a perfect dinner and a great fun sitting and eating like a local.

Le Chalet Dalat

Le Chalet Dalat is a really cute cafe near the Crazy House. Unfortunately, I stayed at the Crazy House for few nights (stories be told soon), and the nearest and the cutest cafe was Le Chalet. I went there every morning to have the pho and it was delicious, especially with the cold weather.

Vietnam Nightlife Dalat

Like I said, the nightlife in Dalat is not like HCMC or Hanoi, but rather on a quieter side. But doesn’t mean that there is nothing going one. I stumbled upon few bars and I had a great time.

The Maze Bar

The maze bar is one of the weirdest bar I have ever been. It is like the crazy house but in a maze like setting. You can easily be lost with your friends in the bar if you turn the wrong corner. You can check my Youtube video above to see what it’s like.

You have to pay the entrance (you get one free drink) to go in. I think it is because a lot of people just go into look and not drink. There is also an out door where you can chill and relax. This is one of things you have to do while you are in Dalat Vietnam.

Woody Bar

This is a bar where you can have cocktails. I went there after having my pizza. I am sorry I didn’t take much picture in the bar as I was already tipsy and kind of forgot. But trust me on this. It is one of the nicest bar in Dalat. It is more like a Westernized bar but I really loved it because they knew how to make an amazing Martini.

Fog Bar/ B21Bee/ Bee Pub/ Backpacker Beer Club

These bars were my last stop after visiting the Woody Bar and  Maze bar.

There are four bars/Clubs on this street. There were a lot of locals drinking outside and dancing inside the club area. Maze bar is where a lot of backpackers go for a drink, but seems like a lot them migrate to Trương Công street to these bars as I saw a lot of the people from the Maze bar. A lot of locals were drinking as well, so I assume it is a mix of locals and foreigners.

I hear on the weekdays it is pretty much dead and only gets really busy on the weekends. So keep that in mind if you are going on weekdays.

Rain Nightclub Dalat

I didn’t go to Rain nightclub Dalat. But I heard from one of the backpackers who were staying in Dalat for a week said Rain nightclub is the only real club in town. It is next to BBQ Mo Te so I passed by, but it seemed to be really quite as it was only the weekday.

I am not sure what it’s like so I cannot tell, but if you have tried Rain nightclub, please let me know. Also, I think you don’t have to go all the way here when you got Bee Pub and Backpacker Beer Club.
