Jack the Ripper Tour is probably the most popular walking tour in London. I have tried seven noses of Soho, Sherlock Holmes tour and London All in One tour. Among all those tours, Jack the Ripper was probably the busiest and most popular tour I tried.
Of course with the popularity, there are literally 100s of different tour companies, so I will list the 4 Best Jack the Ripper tours you can try in London.
Jack the Ripper Tour with Ripper Vision
Vision tour is hands down the best tour I tried. This is a group tour with around 20-40 people. The tour guides are all dressed up as an alleged Jack the Ripper outfit.
I have tried the Strawberry Tour and the Original Jack the Ripper tour over the years whenever my friends visited England, but I always felt there was something missing.
I am not saying other tours were bad, but it wasn’t spooky enough or didn’t feel relevant (unlike Sherlock Holmes tour where it felt relevant comparing buildings from the movie and real life).
Vision tour, however, felt more real. But most of all, it was spooky and chilling. I think dressing up like you are in the 1800s definitely helped. But most of all, shooting the projector on a wall on a spooky alleyway, and listening to how they sliced the victim’s neck did feel scary.
The guides are not only passionate about Jack the Ripper but also serial killers in general. I told my guide that I lived in Long Island New York, and he was talking about many serial killers from New York like the Craigslist ripper.
My guide even wrote a book about it, and sold his book at the end of the tour.
Like all the other tours, it took about 2 hours. You should be wearing comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of walking. It didn’t really feel like two hours.
Jack the Ripper tour with Vision is slightly more expensive than other tours. Most of the tours are 10 pounds, but this one was 15 pounds. But I think it was worth the extra five pounds.
After trying several Jack the Ripper tours, I can confidently say the Vision tour is the best Jack the Ripper tour in London.

Free Tours by Foot is a great website for all things tours. I love their website and I not only use to do tours in London but other countries as well. You can find different kinds of tours from Harry Potter to Sherlock Holmes in London.
Free Tours by Foot is a self guided tour, so you have to read the information and the route before you start the tour. They summarize the routes and information on each spots.
Because they have their own Jack the Ripper tour, they didn’t give much information on the route for Jack the Ripper. I haven’t tried their walking tour, so I cannot say what it’s like.
If you still want to do the tour by yourself, you should check out London for Free. It give you all the locations where the victims were murdered.
I still think it is better to go with a group or use a private tour with a guide, because doing it just by yourself doesn’t make it spooky or scary. The guides are like actors where they make the location more immersive.
Jack The Ripper and Sherlock Holmes Bus Tour
Jack the Ripper and Sherlock Holmes bus tour sounds really interesting, but with the 30 pounds price tag, I haven’t tried it.
But I would definitely want to try it one day. I think it would be a great tour when it rains or it’s too cold outside.
This is a premium tour, so I bet you will be taken care better than other tours.
