(Where to Stay | Best Tours| Weather) Everything You Need to Know about Hue

Where to Stay in Hue Vietnam

Hue is a small city compared to Hanoi or HCMC, but it is also important which area you stay. Even though Hue is a small city, It is not a tourist friendly city like Hanoi or HCMC. So you will encounter a lot of language barrier if you don’t stay in the right area. So please check the map below I created to figure out where you need to stay.

Backpacker’s street is where it will be the busiest night in town for travelers. I stayed at the Backpacker’s hostel (which obviously is a party hostel), and had a blast. You can also go to Brown Eyes Bar which is more like a club and was packed on a weekday.

There are few O.K. restaurants there but you should be trying Bun Bo Hue if you are in Hue. Bun Bo Hue was created in Hue and it is their speciality dish that you cannot find in any other city. I have wrote about it on another post and you can check it here.

Hue Vietnam Tours

You can find plenty of tours, but one really stands out. It’s called Bee Bee Travel. It is founded by a young entrepreneur, Tu. Her story is not only compelling, but her passion to introduce Hue to travelers is really inspiring. I even made a vlog post about it, and you can check it out below.

She now has a lot of different kind of tours, but my favorite was definitely the countryside tour. It is something that you will never see, especially if you live in a city like New York. It was so refreshing to learn the real local life and the culture of Vietnam. I am not sponsored or getting paid for this at all, but truly believe this is the best tour. And trust me, I have done a lot of tours.  Also, the food tour is really good where you can try Hue’s special dish, Bun Bo Hue.

Hue Vietnam Weather

Hue has two seasons: Wet and Dry. Dry season is when there is no rain and the temperature can go up to 35 degrees. It is from April to October. The Wet season is from November to March and it can get chilly and wet (obviously). There can be floods in the country side and when that happens, you can see the locals go about on their wooden boats.

I went there in March, and the first day it rained, but the second day was sunny and hot. It says February and March can be a great month to go as it is not too hot, and the chance of rain drops significantly. You can read about the weather in more detail here
