Liverpool is the ONLY city other than China to Exhibit Terracotta Warriors

What is First Emperor of China’s Terracotta Warriors?

Qin Shi Huang is probably one of the most well known king in China. I even remember learning about him in high school. He is famous for many reasons, but one of it is cause of his extravagant burial site and 8000 terracotta army.

He is known for his Terracotta army in the burial site. There were about 8000 soldiers and 1000 horses buried with him. Apparently he even buried people alive. It was only discovered 50 years ago totally by accident which is surprising to me. Because I would think something this big would be discovered long before.

After exhibiting the Terracotta army at the British Museum in 2008, They Had the Most Successful Year

Qin Shi Huang claimed himself as the first king of China as he united China for the first time. So you can imagine how ambitious he was while he was alive, and how ambitious he would have been after death. To build the whole burial, it took more than 30 years, and they couldn’t finish it even after Qin Shi Huang died.

10 years ago, before it came to Liverpool, they had a special exibition at the British museum in London. It was one of the biggest attraction in 2008 and British Museum had the most successful year because of the Terracotta Armies of first Chinese emperor. Now, you can actually see it in Liverpool. It is really hard to get the tickets, and I had to wait two weeks. So, make sure to book it in advance.

You will Have to Book The Tickets in Advance, and There are Not Many Space Left

It is an interesting exhibition as the only way to see Terracotta armies is in China or Liverpool. So if you are visiting Liverpool, make sure to take some time to go visit the Terracotta army.

You Will Not See All 8000 Terracotta Warriors But about 10 Soldiers

The only thing is that I imagined to see at least a whole line of Terracotta but it was only about 10 terracotta in the exhibition. Also, there were so many people in the museum, it took forever to see it. So I advise you to book in the morning where there won’t be too many people accumulating. You can book your ticket here

There are many things you can do in Liverpool from doing a Beatles tour to biking through Crosby beach, but going to the World Museum to see the Terracotta army is also an unique experience you can do in Liverpool.
