Park Hyatt Hotel, Seoul Korea Review | RJ Hotel Hunting

There are many luxury hotels being built with winter Olympics approaching and tourism in Korea booming – Four Seasons in Gyun-Bok-Goong and Conrad hotel in Yeo-Yi-Do are few of the examples. And I believe there are even more to come.

However, before all these luxury hotels, Park Hyatt hotel in Seoul, Korea was trail blazing the idea of luxury even before the boom in tourism. But being built a long time ago, we wondered if Park Hyatt Seoul still has the vibe of luxury and comfort. So we decided stay for a night and let you guys know if it’s worth staying here or not.

LOCATION

It is located in Samsung-Dong. If you are coming to Seoul for a business trip near Gangnam area, Park Hyatt Seoul is the best choice.

For the travelers, I am not sure if this location will fit you. Most of the expats in Korea stays around Itaewon (i.e. mature foreigners) or Hong Dae (i.e. backpacker’s district) area. It will take 20 minutes taxi to Itaewon and 40 minutes drive to Hong Dae from Park Hyatt hotel. But there is a subway station (Samsung Station) right in front of the hotel. You can check out my other blog post about the neighborhood and things to do in Seoul.

Park Hyatt Hotel in Seoul, Korea Is Perfect for Business Man Who Needs to Be in GANGNAM Area

There is a mall, department stores and a biggest aquarium in Korea within walking distance. The mall is all renovated recently and the library inside the mall is quite interesting. Although Coex mall lost its charm with so many different malls in Korea, it was once the most popular place to go.

The Library in the mall

It is really close to the so called “Chungdam, Gangnam.” Remember the song “Gangnam Style?” So, that area is only few minutes away from Park Hyatt hotel. There are lots of high end brands and mega expensive restaurants. Here are some of the food and restaurants you can try while staying in Seoul. If you are visiting Korea for those reason, Park Hyatt is a good location for you.

ROOMS

When I was booking the Park Hyatt hotel in Seoul, Korea, I was not only worried about being too far, but also the price tag of the room. So I booked the cheapest standard room with points. So I had no expectations.

the standard room with a huge dining space and a seating area. It was very relaxing and calm
a cute teapot section
coffee machine with free coffee
toiletries all packaged in a box. I couldn’t use it cause it was too cute, so I took it home lol
the closet is spacious, so people who are staying longer would be perfect

When I arrived at the hotel, it felt like a love hotel where your privacy is the utmost important aspect. You have to go up to 24th floor to check in. Then the lady will escort you to the room.

The room was above and beyond. The Bedroom was spacious with a nice seating area. The bed was extremely comfortable and a true king sized bed. But the best part was the bathtub with a floor to ceiling window and a view of the COEX mall.

The lady told us that all rooms will have a bathtub with a view, even the cheapest one. So, when you book a room, you don’t have to worry about getting a room with no window situation.

the bathtub with the blind down
the king sized bed with a small sitting area
view from the entrance
bathtub with the blinds up. so you can take a bath overlooking the umuzing Seoul
another angle of a bathtub. and on the right bottom, you will see the salt that can be put in the tube
the salt and the loafa pad which is ma favorite. I just took it home again lol
the best part about amenities are that they give you AESOP toiletries which would cost almost a 100 dollars if you buy it on Amazon
OK… One more time with my favorite loafa pad

Another perk about staying at the Park Hyatt hotel in Seoul is not only the room but the pool on 23rd floor. It is an heated indoor pool with a breathe taking view. I really loved the pool because a lot of hotels would say heated and not be heated.

Park Hyatt hotel in Korea was warm and nice. I could see why it was a lot more expensive than the Grand Hyatt hotel

a small bar for the guests. You can have cold juice, free water and a way to the spa and gym
Pool on the 23rd floor
Me getting ready to swim with a view
Rollin Posing
the view of Seoul from 23rd floor

The gym was big enough with a good collection on weights (not like one dumbbell). There was a restaurant right next to the pool and people were having afternoon tea.

There were few other restaurants in the hotel. We didn’t have a chance to eat there as we went out to Daedo restaurant (one of the best bbq restaurant)

There is another Park Hyatt hotel in Busan which is just like Park Hyatt Seoul. If you are planning to go to Busan, Park Hyatt Busan would be the best choice. I wrote everything you need to know about Busan here, and you should read it before you go

Amenities and Facilities Are a Full Package Where It Will Make You Not Want to Leave Park Hyatt Hotel, Seoul

Also, the club lounge has resting chair and a sauna. It is a full-on small version of a resort that you don’t have to go out of the hotel – big rooms, pool, sauna, lounging area, spa, restaurants and bars. The hotel is too good for travelers who are staying for a short period of time, because you will not be able to use all the amenities.

this is a resting area for the guests. They also have a nice sauna inside, but due to naked men walking around I couldn’t take the picture

FINAL THOUGHTS

I think Park Hyatt is an excellent hotel for staycation or travelers who needs a rest after all the sightseeing. Because the location is a little out of the way, you will waste on moving from A to B. But the hotel itself is above and beyond.

Even the smallest and cheapest room will have a high standard with a view and an amazing bath tub. The club lounge with a pool, resting area, sauna and the spa will make sure you are well rested. Park Hyatt Seoul, Korea is a full package.
