So you decided to go with Lotte Car Rental Jeju. I know it is a bit more expensive, but this is also my go to company when I go to Jeju Island because it is the biggest and the most reliable company. So rest assure, you made a good choice.

Lotte Car Rental Jeju is the company most Koreans use. The second biggest is SK Rental (Now merged with AJ Rental).
The advantage of booking Lotte Car Rental is that they don’t have any hidden fees or shady tricks like smaller rental companies (There are literally 100s of smaller Jeju rental companies).
Most of the Jeju Rental companies will always have an issue when you return your car (except the top 10 rental cars like SK, OK Jeju and more).

Either you booked it through Lotte Car Rental or rentalcars.com, you will get a text message through KaKao talk Mobile App (If you haven’t downloaded Kakao talk please do, both on IOS and Android).
Because of coronavirus, a lot of things happens non-face to face which I thought was a lot faster and easier.
Even-though you don’t have to see the person, you still have to bring your driver’s license and the credit card you used to book!
Lotte Car Rental Jeju Auto House Shuttle Bus
You will already have received the information on Kakaotalk. But still it will be daunting when it is your first time.
when you arrive at Jeju airport, you will see many signs. If you are not sure you can always go to the Lotte Rental Car counter.
I got it in Korean, but the note will explain very well.
Because almost everybody arriving to Jeju island is renting a car, they will all head to rental car shuttle bus.
You can see the sign clearly on the top, but you can just follow the crowd lol.
Then you will see literally 100s of rental car companies’ shuttle bus area.
Lotte Rental Car shuttle bus is area 1 – 4.
Things to do at Jeju Auto House
When you arrive at the Lottel Rental Car Jeju Auto House, you will need to get the number ticket.
Then wait for your number. If you are a foreigner, you will have your own section (which usually has a shorter line).
After they check your driver’s license and payment they take you to the car.
You can actually upgrade your insurance to full cover here (CDW might not cover some accidents, so make sure to get the full cover).
If they don’t ask you, make sure to ask if you can sign up for the full insurance cover.
I always go for the full cover.
Because we got the full insurance cover, they didn’t even check if the car had any scratches.
After you learn how to use some basics, you are off to adventure!
The car was kind of small so I had to hold all the luggages, but it was nonetheless a great car rental service.
My Thoughts on Lotte Rental Car Jeju
It definetely is more expensive than other companies, but you are paying for the easy breazy service and convenience.
If you don’t want to pay too much, I would always recommend using rental car comparing sites to see other options.
